Ideal Cover Photo Dimensions For Facebook, Twitter, and Google+
Aug 27, 2014Web and InternetComments (3)
Here are the ideal cover photo dimensions for each of these social networks. You can use any size, but these sizes will result in having the best aspect ratio and least loss in quality.

NetworkPixel DimensionAspect Ratio
Facebook851 x 3152.7:1
Google+1080 x 60816:9 (1.78:1)
YouTube2560 X 144016:9 (1.78:1)
Twitter1500 x 5003:1

If you have a brand or business and it's important to have a standard cover photo across all sites, I recommend creating one that is extra large (at least 1500 x 1000) and then resize and crop it in Photoshop to fit each site individually.

Nick Vogt - Awesome, thanks! This chart is literally the first thing that comes up when googling social media cover photo sizes (thanks for this handy resource, btw), and I was trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. =D
