How to Block Amazon Frontpage Woman's Dress Video Ad

Please note that this post is over a year old and may contain outdated information.
Amazon often shows a video ad on their frontpage for their women's dresses section. It can be distracting, as any auto-playing video is. Here is an easy way to remove it using a standard ad blocker.

Don't Have an Ad Blocker?

To block these video ads from showing up, you'll need an ad blocker extension or plug-in for your browser. If you don't already have one, you can get one from your browser's extension/plug-in page. I recommend ┬ÁBlock Origin for either Chrome or Firefox. Any one that supports the AdBlock Plus filter syntax will work.

Custom Filter

Add the following filters to your ad blocker custom filter section:

##.airy-video-viewport
##.viewport-loading player-loading

This prevents the video from showing up by stopping your browser from requesting it, which will also save some bandwidth.
