Rage PC: Manually Create Cache Folder
Posted October 15, 2011 by Nick Vogt in PC Gaming
Creating this folder can speed up performance on some systems when playing Rage. At the very least, it won't hurt.

Create the following folder if it doesn't exist:

Windows 7:
DRIVE:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\id software\rage

Windows XP:
DRIVE:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Application Data\id software\rage

On my Windows 7 system this is what it looks like:

C:\Users\Nick\AppData\Local\id software\rage

That folder likely wasn't created on install. Once you create it and run Rage, it will be used for cache files (FileCache000.bin and FileCacheHeader.bin).
