Besiege Rocket VTOL 2 with Reaction Control Wheels

Besiege Rocket VTOL

A vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft built in Besiege. Uses rockets for thrust and reaction control wheels for pitch, yaw, and roll. Maneuverability is very good and it's very fast, but it's difficult to control, as you can see in the video below. It probably needs more fine-tuning of the reaction wheels and better key mapping.

Controls

The craft uses [F][C][V][B] keys (poor alternative to WASD) and numpad [4] and [6] for pitch, yaw, and roll control. Numpad [8] controls main rockets (hold) and numpad [+] controls landing/emergency rockets and pads (toggle). Lastly, numpad [7] and [5] rotate the main rockets from downward for takeoff/landing to back-facing for forward flight. Don't rotate them too far or they'll burn up the wings.

Video

In the video I'm using the Keep Camera Rotation Mod so the camera follows the vehicle, and RocketMod to give the flame throwers thrust. Learn more about these mods on the Besiege mod forum.
