How to Remove Icon Badge Notifications on Android Samsung TouchWiz
Sep 20, 2013MobileComments (5)
Launcher icon badge notifications are available in Samsung TouchWiz devices with Android Jelly Bean. They resemble the badge notifications in iOS. Social, messaging, and email apps can utilize this functionality to display a number showing how many new notifications there are.

If you're like me, you find it unnecessary and want to remove it. There may be more than one way to do so, but on my Galaxy Note i717, you can remove it by disabling the BadgeProvider app. Go to your Manage Applications app, usually found in the Settings menu, and view All apps. Scroll down until you find BadgeProvider, tap it, and then disable it.

I'm having that issue as well. I tried Nova Launcher just now, but the different icons and procedures would take some getting used to.

I have the same problem. I either get intrusive red "CLICK ME NOW!" bubbles, or the UI crashes. Great options, Samsung Australia! I'm pretty ready to root my SGS6 because TouchWiz is absolutely pathetic. I miss HTC Sense.

When I disable badgeprovider, Touchwiz home crashes frequently.. Is there any other way to remove icon badge without disabling badgeprovider?
